Manning Humiliates Kelly at His Own Game

Chip Kelly's worse nightmare is a QB that is his intellectual equal at the no huddle offense.

Chip Kelly like many successful college Coaches that have been offense innovators quickly learn that what works well at the college level doesn’t always translate well at the NFL level. Kelly’s hurry up/no huddle offenses at Oregon were no match for most Pac 12 teams because he recruited the best athletes in the nation that also possessed blazing speed. Then once his players learned his system and could execute it most of the PAC 12’s weak defenses, especially the Corners and Safety’s, would break usually by the first half and certainly by the end of the 3rd or 4th quarter.

In Denver yesterday Kelly had to be on the other end of an epic beat down. He was forced to witness what a highly skilled veteran QB could do with the exact same offense he wishes to employ in Philadelphia trample his team underfoot in the same mechanically ruthless way in which his teams did in Eugene. His ego had to shaken and humbled by the experience.

In Kelly’s defensive he doesn’t have one of the greatest QB’s in NFL history (Peyton Manning) to execute his offense nor does he have the kind of talented receiving corps that is at Manning's beck and call. He doesn’t have the depth the Broncos have at the skilled positions on offense either.

Despite all that was going against him going into Denver this week his team hung with the Broncos in the first half. The Broncos D struggled to contain Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy early and by the end of the first half were clearly gassed from the constant pursue. Kelly had to be pleased that his team was only down 21-13 at half time.

After the 1st half was over I felt the best the way the Broncos could get a jump on the Eagles was to slow the game down a little and get a stop on the Eagles first possession of the 2nd half. Manning and company have been able to score at will and as in the case yesterday, so quick the D hardly had a chance to catch their collective breathes in the 1st half.

Manning being the smartest QB in the game right now, knew this too of course and right on queue that’s exactly how the 3rd quarter unfolded. He marched the Broncos down the field on 80 yard drive with a mix of pass and run for a TD that took just over 5 minutes off the clock at the beginning of 3rd. 5 minutes wouldn’t be what you’d call a very time consuming drive by most NFL standards but in Manning’s version of the no huddle it was an eternity for the helpless Eagles.

Once the Eagles took position of the ball for the first time in the 2nd half the rested Broncos D rose up and forced a 3 and out. After that any chance of the Eagles remaining competitive in the game was over. Just like Kelly had done so many times in his college coaching career lying waste to teams in the 2nd half of games, Manning turned the tables on him and became his executioner.

For all of Manning’s incredible statistics thus far his best one has been the merciless stampede he’s waylaid on teams in the 3rd quarter this season. In all the years I’ve followed NFL football I’ve never seen a team and QB pounce on an opponent so decisively and ruthlessly.

After Manning put up his 3rd TD of the quarter to Wes Welker with 5:05 left in the 3rd the Portland TV station here switched to the Cowboys/Chargers game. It’s been years and years since I’ve seen that happen with a Broncos team. You’d probably have to go back to the John Elway era to find a network giving up on a game before the end of the 3rd Q. It ticked me off pretty bad but since the game was never in doubt I accepted it much better.

Worthy of mention:

Wes Welker and especially Demaryius Thomas deserve some kudos. Thomas made a sensational grab for TD in the second half and really is maturing as a one of the best WR’s in the NFL. Knowshon Moreno rushed for 76 yards and continues to amaze me with his comeback from a guy who looked like he was on his way out of NFL not so long ago. The OL continues to dominate and Chris Clark did another good job of protecting Manning’s blind side although he did give up one sack and a couple of knock downs. The D did their job too shutting down the Eagles after Manning spotted them a 28-13 lead at the beginning of the 3rd Q.

I can’t wait for the game next week. Next to the Oakland Raiders I loathe the Dallas Cowboys with just as much passion and nothing will be as a sweet as the recent Raiders wax job except a total annihilation of the Cowboys in Dallas. I can hardly wait to see that disgusted look on Jerry Jones face as the cameras focus on him in his sky box as his Cowboys get dismantled piece meal by Manning and Company. GO BRONCOS!!

Pitying the Raiders? Sacrilegious!!

Manning is living the dream of every NFL Quarterback.

I wonder if any of you Broncos Fans felt the way I did after watching the Raiders game last night. Did the game start to bore you?  Not that winning ever gets boring but Peyton Manning is making it look so easy right now that in the first 3 games the outcome has never really been in doubt.  Don’t misunderstand, I love winning but I almost found myself feeling sorry for the hapless Raiders because they were not going to have a chance. I can’t believe I’d actually say this, it’s sacrilegious but it’s true.

His superlative performances have become so common place and so predictable it’s like watching him beating up defenses like they were nothing but a group of second rate practice squads.

From the opening snap in the 1st quarter Manning took over the game and the Raiders Defense became nothing but a group of helpless deer in a set of headlights, more like flood lights really. They never had any hope; it was like they were playing against the computer on Madden. The computer was Manning and the Raiders were the poor helpless human beings whose hands were frozen on the joy stick left dumbstruck and in awe in the ruthless mechanical way in which he was slicing and dicing them.

Not once in the whole game did Manning ever huddle up the team to call a play, he called them all from the line of scrimmage.  It was like a track meet with the Raiders never having a chance to get out of the starting blocks. Manning is unmerciful in his pursuit to pour it on even when he has his boot on the collective necks of defenses. It’s one of the qualities I love about him, he never lets up and that’s why he’s won so many games.

It was unbelievable how Chris Clark starting at Left Tackle for the injured Ryan Clady became a non-story except for the one block he missed that caused Manning to fumble but by then it didn’t matter because the game was in garbage time. If you take away that fumble and the one by Montee Ball the Broncos more than likely would have put more points on the board.

The Broncos Defense Line dominated the Raiders and never let Darren McFadden get any momentum. Historically he’s run all over the Broncos but not last night. The score had a lot to do with it but you have to give credit to the DL for being a brick wall at the line of scrimmage.

Through the first 3 games they’ve had the luxury of playing with big leads which is great that’s what you want in a game but you have to wonder just how good they’ll be when they come up against an offense that can move the chains against them. Regardless they’re doing the job that’s laid out before them and that’s getting the opposing team off the field and letting Manning get on it to work his magic.

It’s unfortunate that Terrelle Pryor is playing in the graveyard of the NFL at Oakland. He’s got a good arm and has confidence in his game. He’s the first Raiders QB in a long time to impress and I think if he survives the meat grinder he’ll go through he may become a good QB.

Thankfully for us Broncos Fans short of him and McFadden the Raiders is a bunch of no name players that don’t have the talent this season to compete with the awesome juggernaut that is the Denver Broncos. What a great start, it doesn't get any better than this. Next victim, Philadelphia.

Peyton wins the Bloodline Battle

Knowshon Moreno was the Man of Hour in Week 2.
If you watch any professional sport you’ll rarely see games where 2 Brothers face each other. While the media makes it into interesting hype for the serious fan it doesn’t really matter, it’s just another game. The only comparison that fans should be concerned with is when the playoffs begin in December and if our half of the bloodline wins when it matters most.

If you look at the 2 regular season records of the Manning Brothers Eli Manning can't come close to matching Peyton Manning statistically but in the playoffs Eli has a better playoff record. Eli is 8-3 in postseason games while Peyton is 9-11. Eli is 2-0 in Super Bowls and Peyton is 1-1. As great as Peyton has been I’ve said in the past I’d rather have Eli as my Quarterback in the postseason. Eli, as his record indicates has handled the postseason pressure far better than his Big Brother.

It the big scheme of things this is what will matter. Peyton was signed for one reason, and one reason only to get to and win a Super Bowl for the Broncos. If he doesn’t achieve that goal in my opinion for all of his regular season greatness thus far he’s had for the Broncos he’ll be considered a failure.

He certainly is playing very well right now; he has a gaudy 9 TD passes and 769 yards so far. The Broncos have played 2 quality opponents in a row to begin the season taking them both to the slaughter pen. Eli in this one just didn't have enough of a team around him to have a chance.

Just like last week, the Broncos couldn’t run the ball or score big in the first half but in the 3rd quarter they exploded. For some QB’s a 307 yard 2 TD passing day would be a good one but by Peyton’s own standards he would probably say it was just a serviceable performance. In the end though the final score is the best stat and of all his stats I’m sure he prizes the W’s far more than the passing statistics.

I give credit to the Offensive Line they played excellent in pass protection. Last week they gave up 3 sacks this week a goose egg. It’s an important stat, should Manning get hurt the bottom will fall out for the Broncos. Ryan Clady had a scare in the 4th quarter when a player rolled over his leg but I assume he must be okay because I haven’t seen an injury report saying he’s badly hurt.

The other noteworthy performance was turned in by Knowshon Moreno. After Montee Ball fumbled a sure TD run he took most of the snaps and made the most of them. He had 93 yards rushing and 2 TD’s. I’ve been a very outspoken critic about Moreno in the past but on this day he deserves praise because results are what matter. I still believe it’s just a matter of time before Ball is the primary RB but so far Moreno has been excellent in his role.

The Broncos Defense held the Giants to a measly 19 yards rushing. The DL and the LB’s played very well. It was good to see LB Danny Trevathan lead the team in tackles with 8 solos and 2 assisted instead of one of the Safety’s leading that category.

In the secondary the Broncos still gave up to many yards and big plays. Chris Harris got burned for a TD but came back and picked off one of the 4 INT’s the Broncos had for the day. The Broncos secondary for as well as they have played so far is still the most questionable unit on defense.

As long as Manning and the offense can score over 40 points in a game they’ll cover the backs of the Broncos D but once they play a team that can run and toss the ball as well as they can in a tight game that’s when the real test will come. Thankfully so far that test hasn’t come yet and hopefully as the season moves on they’ll improve.

The Oakland Raiders don’t look to be much of a test either but they can’t overlook them. They can’t overlook any team. I’d like to see the Broncos put 60 or 70 points up on the Raiders but I wouldn’t be surprised if the game is much closer than Fans might think.

NASA Photos Prove the Earth is COOLING not Warming

And now it's global COOLING! Record return of Arctic ice caps it grows by 60% in a year

Click on the link above to read full story:

Then... NASA satellite images showing the spread of Arctic sea ice 27th August 2012

...And now, much bigger: The same NASA image taken in 2013
Here's photographic evidence from a NASA satellite that the earth is cooling, it is NOT warming. 950,000 square acres of new ice has expanded in the Arctic in 1 year. Not even photos will convince the hardcore climate alarmist’s but a picture should be worth a 1,000 words even if you're in denial. Pass this on to the greenies and thank them for the $4 a gallon gas you're paying for.

The narrative about energy must reverse course. We must badger the liberal media and get them to understand that Global Warming is a fraud and demand that they honestly report the facts to reeducate the greenies that have been duped into this climate change cult. It’s unbelievable that the only honest information coming out on this issue has to come from the British and Canadian Press Corps. The U.S. lame stream media is nowhere in sight.

We must drill now for more oil and natural gas in the US and produce more domestic coal. Energy independence isn't impossible if we give up this idea that windmills, solar batteries and bio-fuels will save us from the patently false idea of a coming global apocalypse. The opposite is true, government subsidies for energy systems that will not meet our energy needs is economic suicide and ridiculous when we have the oil, gas and coal reserves right here in the US to meet most of our needs. Up and until the alternative energy sources make economic sense to produce and consume we must go with the cheapest most readily available energy there is which is oil. Since there is more evidence every day proving that the climate isn’t being changed by fossil fuels we can and should be using them.

The planet is going to survive us but we won’t survive it if we let a small group of liberal bureaucrats wreck our national economy, our country and thus killing any chance of us remaining a free and prosperous society. Imagine if we could reduce our oil imports by 30% even 20%? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were not slaves to Middle Eastern oil? Imagine how our foreign policy would change? Wouldn’t it be fantastic to tell the Arabs to keep their oil and to go to hell? Imagine gas going down to under $2 a gallon? Imagine what that alone would do for economic growth? Imagine the price of almost every consumer item dropping in price because transportation costs would be cut in half?

It’s not going to happen until we break up the Church of Climate change. We must combat them with facts and eventually we’ll win the ideology battle. Then we can eventually win the war and bring back some common sense to our national energy policy. The Great Global Warming Swindle must come to end.
