Obama: The Thin Skinned Commander in Chief

Obama’s war strategy in Afghanistan is a total disaster. Big deal so someone on General Stanley McChrystal's staff pokes a little fun at Obama and Biden in the Rolling Stone Magazine story called "The Runaway General." It was far from insubordination or dereliction of duty. At no time did he disobey orders or not follow Obama’s failed military strategy. Obama is the thinnest skin President in American history; he needs to grow a pair.

The fact is between, reading prisoners their Mirada Rights, giving medals to soldiers who show restraint by not shooting people and handcuffing the military leadership with this defeatist notion that they must avoid certain trouble spots if civilians are present is crazy and isn’t a winning strategy. Collateral damage is a part of war and by God if I’m a soldier over there I would shoot first and ask questions later. Too many fine young men and women over there are becoming statistics. We must first and foremost defend ourselves and not apologize for doing so.

The worst of it is Obama tells us all that he plans to pull troops by July of 2011 which so is insane. All the terrorist have to do is just hold out for a year and presto, they have control of Afghanistan again. An intelligent Commander in Chief wouldn’t show his hand by talking in absolutes. Why would we commit the lives of our great American troops if the goal isn’t to achieve the total eradication of all the terrorists and secure some form of a stable government there if we plan to pull out in a year? We shouldn’t.

I believe we’ve paid to heavy a price in blood and treasure not to mention what happens to our national security if we just roll over now. But if Obama doesn’t have the guts or the fortitude to finish this war with victory but instead is willing to concede defeat, then pull the troops out now. We must go in with the winning attitude and do whatever is necessary to achieve our goals or get the hell out NOW.
